Evergreen New Zealand shrub with dark shoots bearing glossy rounded green leaves finely edged white. In late spring and early summer produces small, very fragrant deep purple flowers. Makes an excellent coastal hedge or will provide structure and height to the garden if grown as a single specimen. Young plants will need winter protection in cold areas.
