Synonym - Elaeagnus × submacrophylla

Hardy, fast growing evergreen shrub with large green leathery leaves which are silvery beneath. Excellent for hedging or shelter belts, including coastal areas, where it will tolerate extreme conditions. Silvery-white very fragrant flowers in autumn, followed by orange fruits in spring.
