John Brenton  was brought up in Cornwall, to where he returned to work after he had graduated in art and music.   His intimate knowledge of the varied coastal landscapes of the West Country is the inspiration for his paintings. His work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy and at Panter & Hall in London, and he has regular exhibitions at Cove's Quay Gallery in Salcombe.
