Description
A handsome evergreen shrub valued for its bold, architectural foliage and striking winter display. Upright stems carry glossy, spiny-edged, dark green leaves, topped in late autumn and winter by long spikes of fragrant, bright yellow flowers. These are followed by blue-black berries that can provide food for birds. Tough, reliable and adaptable, ‘Charity’ is well suited to coastal gardens and makes an excellent choice for screening, informal hedging or as a specimen shrub. The flowers are also attractive to early pollinating insects.
