Description
‘Sunset’ is one of the finest rock roses, producing a spectacular display of vibrant magenta-pink flowers with bright golden-yellow centres from late spring into summer. Each papery bloom lasts only a day, but they are produced in such abundance that the plant remains covered in colour for weeks. Its compact, bushy habit and evergreen grey-green foliage make it an excellent choice for adding year-round structure to sunny gardens.
Exceptionally well suited to dry, coastal and Mediterranean-style planting, Cistus × pulverulentus ‘Sunset’ thrives in full sun and free-draining soil. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant and requires very little maintenance, making it ideal for low-maintenance borders, gravel gardens, banks and seaside locations.
