Description
Amelanchier lamarckii, commonly known as Juneberry, Snowy Mespilus, or Serviceberry, is a graceful, multi-stemmed deciduous tree or large shrub valued for its exceptional year-round ornamental appeal. It is renowned for its delicate spring blossom, attractive foliage, edible berries, and spectacular autumn colour, making it an excellent choice for gardens of all sizes.
In early to mid-spring, before the leaves fully emerge, the branches are covered with masses of star-shaped white flowers that provide an important source of nectar for bees and other pollinators. Bronze-tinted young foliage gradually matures to fresh green during summer before turning brilliant shades of orange, scarlet, and crimson in autumn.
