Description
Fatshedera lizei ‘Variegata’ is a striking evergreen shrub with an unusual combination of Fatsia-like foliage and the upright, scrambling habit of ivy. Its large, glossy, deeply lobed leaves are beautifully marked with creamy-white variegation, providing year-round interest and brightening shady areas.
The stems can be trained against a wall, fence or trellis, making it a useful choice where an evergreen climbing effect is required without the vigorous clinging habit of ivy. Small greenish-white flowers may appear in autumn, adding further seasonal interest.
Ideal for shady borders, woodland gardens, containers and sheltered coastal gardens, ‘Variegata’ prefers fertile, well-drained soil and performs best in partial shade, where the foliage colouring is particularly effective.
