Description
Elaeagnus × ebbingei ‘Compacta’ is a compact, bushy evergreen shrub with attractive silver-green foliage and a dense, naturally rounded habit. The leathery leaves have a silvery sheen, providing year-round colour and structure, while small, fragrant creamy-white flowers appear in autumn.
More compact than the species, ‘Compacta’ is an excellent choice for smaller gardens, low informal hedges and screening. It is exceptionally tough and adaptable, tolerating coastal exposure, salt-laden winds, drought and a range of soils once established. It also responds well to pruning, making it a versatile and reliable evergreen for exposed gardens.
