Description
A compact, evergreen Australian shrub with a dense, rounded habit, attractive grey-green foliage and profusion of delicate white, bell-shaped flowers from autumn through spring. The small, leathery leaves have a silvery underside, giving the plant a soft, coastal appearance that contrasts beautifully with the nectar-rich blooms, which are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators.
Exceptionally tolerant of coastal conditions, salt-laden winds and dry spells once established, this hardy shrub is an excellent choice for seaside gardens, gravel gardens and low-maintenance borders. Its naturally tidy growth also makes it suitable for informal hedging, containers and wildlife-friendly planting schemes. Easy to grow in a sunny, sheltered position with well-drained soil, it requires very little maintenance beyond occasional light trimming to maintain its shape.
