Description
Acanthus spinosus is a striking architectural perennial, prized for its bold, deeply cut, glossy green leaves and impressive flower spikes. In summer, tall upright stems carry elegant white flowers with distinctive purple markings, creating a dramatic display above the foliage. Tough, reliable and easy to grow, it is excellent for adding structure and Mediterranean character to sunny borders. Well suited to coastal gardens, it tolerates exposed conditions and salt-laden air once established. A superb choice for borders, gravel gardens and wildlife-friendly planting.
