Description
A relatively unusual evergreen shrub, with charming Cistus-like flowers and compact, bushy habit. A natural hybrid between Halimium and Cistus, it combines the best qualities of both Mediterranean shrubs.
In summer, it produces an abundance of attractive saucer-shaped white flowers with yellow centres. The flowers stand out beautifully against the small, dark green, evergreen foliage.
This is an excellent choice for sunny, dry and well-drained positions, particularly in gravel gardens, coastal gardens and Mediterranean-style planting schemes. Once established, Halimiocistus is drought tolerant and requires little maintenance.
Its compact size makes it particularly useful where space is limited, while its evergreen foliage provides year-round structure. It is also an interesting and unusual plant for collectors and gardeners looking for something a little different.
