Description
Griselinia littoralis, commonly known as New Zealand broadleaf, is a versatile evergreen shrub with glossy, rounded green leaves and a naturally dense, bushy habit. Its attractive foliage remains fresh and green throughout the year, making it one of the most useful evergreen plants for providing permanent structure and screening in the garden.
Fast-growing and tolerant of exposed conditions, Griselinia littoralis is particularly well suited to coastal gardens and makes an excellent hedging plant. It responds well to regular trimming, forming a dense, neat hedge that provides privacy and shelter while also offering good resistance to salt-laden winds.
Best grown in full sun or partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil, it is adaptable to a range of conditions and establishes quickly. An excellent choice for formal or informal hedges, windbreaks, screening and mixed evergreen planting.
