Description
Drimys winteri, commonly known as Winter’s Bark, is an attractive evergreen shrub or small tree valued for its glossy foliage, elegant habit and clusters of fragrant white flowers. Native to southern Chile and Argentina, it brings a distinctive architectural and exotic character to the garden.
Particularly well suited to woodland, coastal and sheltered gardens, where it can develop into an impressive specimen. It prefers a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade and a fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Once established, it is relatively low maintenance and can make an excellent evergreen screen or feature plant.
