Description
A semi-evergreen shrub grown for its clusters of slender, greenish-yellow tubular flowers that appear from midsummer through to autumn. The blooms release a sweet, powerful fragrance, particularly in the evening, making this an excellent choice for planting near patios, seating areas or pathways where its scent can be fully appreciated. The glossy green foliage provides an attractive backdrop throughout the growing season.
This fast-growing shrub thrives in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil and performs particularly well in mild coastal and urban gardens. Once established, it is reasonably drought tolerant and responds well to pruning in spring to maintain a compact, bushy shape. In colder parts of the UK, some winter protection may be beneficial.
