Description
A charming late-season perennial that brings a welcome splash of colour to the garden when many summer flowers are beginning to fade. It forms a neat clump of attractive green foliage, topped in late summer and autumn with masses of daisy-like flowers in soft lilac-blue, each with a contrasting yellow centre.
An excellent choice for herbaceous borders, cottage gardens and wildlife-friendly planting, it is particularly valuable for extending the flowering season and provides an important source of nectar for bees and other pollinating insects. Reliable and easy to grow, it performs best in a sunny position in fertile, well-drained soil and combines beautifully with ornamental grasses and other late-flowering perennials.
