Description
The upright to arching fronds of this fern emerge from a compact crown, forming a lush mound of foliage that provides long-lasting garden interest. Its delicate appearance contrasts beautifully with larger-leaved woodland plants, grasses and other shade-loving perennials.
Dryopteris striata is best grown in partial to full shade in a moist, fertile, humus-rich soil. It is well suited to woodland gardens, shady borders, banks and naturalistic planting, and can be particularly effective when planted in groups to create a lush ferny effect.
