Description
A striking evergreen perennial, forming dense, compact clumps of dramatic almost-black, strap-like foliage. In summer, small pale lilac to white flowers appear among the leaves, followed by glossy blue-black berries, adding further interest.
A superb choice for creating contrast in borders, edging, rockeries and containers, ‘Nigrescens’ provides bold colour and year-round structure. It is easy to grow and tolerant of a range of conditions, including coastal gardens, where its distinctive dark foliage provides an especially attractive contrast with lighter-coloured plants.
