Description
A vigorous, long-flowering perennial sweet pea, Lathyrus latifolius produces masses of attractive pink, rose or white pea-like flowers throughout summer. The winged stems scramble happily through shrubs, trellis and fences, making it ideal for adding height and colour to informal planting. Unlike annual sweet peas, the flowers are not scented, but the plant is tough, reliable and particularly well suited to coastal and exposed gardens. The flowers are also popular with bees and other pollinating insects.
