Description
Erigeron karvinskianus, commonly known as Mexican fleabane, is a charming, spreading perennial valued for its masses of small, daisy-like flowers and exceptionally long flowering season. The flowers open white before gradually changing to soft pink and lilac, creating a lovely multi-coloured effect from late spring well into autumn.
Its fine, branching stems form a relaxed, naturalistic habit, making it particularly effective spilling over walls, paving and raised beds. It is also an excellent choice for gravel gardens, containers and cottage-style planting.
Mexican fleabane thrives in sunny, well-drained positions and is remarkably tolerant of dry conditions once established. It is particularly useful in coastal gardens, where it copes well with wind and salt exposure. An easy and reliable plant for softening hard landscaping and attracting bees and other pollinating insects.
