This tough, drought-tolerant Mediterranean shrub thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it an excellent choice for coastal gardens, gravel gardens, banks, and dry borders. Once established, it requires very little maintenance and copes well with poor soils, salt-laden winds, and extended dry spells. Light pruning immediately after flowering will help maintain a neat, bushy shape.
