Description
Commonly known as Chinese Plumbago, is a superb deciduous subshrub that provides exceptional late-season interest. From late summer into autumn, it produces clusters of striking gentian-blue flowers that contrast beautifully with its fresh green foliage. As the temperatures cool, the leaves develop rich shades of crimson, bronze and scarlet, creating a spectacular autumn display.
This hardy, easy-to-grow plant thrives in a sunny, sheltered position with well-drained soil. Once established, it is drought tolerant and requires very little maintenance, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens. Its long flowering season provides valuable late nectar for bees and other pollinating insects when many other plants have finished blooming.
