Description
An excellent evergreen shrub for coastal gardens, with no hi attractive silvery-grey foliage and exceptional tolerance of exposed conditions. The softly textured, silver leaves create a striking contrast with greener planting and retain their colour throughout the year. Small, inconspicuous flowers appear in summer, followed by attractive seed structures.
A tough, drought-tolerant and low-maintenance plant, Atriplex halimus is particularly well suited to seaside gardens, coastal hedging and exposed positions, where it copes exceptionally well with salt-laden winds, poor soils and dry conditions. An excellent choice for creating informal silvery screens and adding year-round structure to the garden.
