Nestled in the scenic South Hams area of Devon , we are proud to serve not just our local community but customers from both inland and coastal locations across the UK mainland, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.
Having met while training at Pershore College of Horticulture, we gained extensive experience in various branches of horticulture around the country. Our ambition was always to start our own nursery. We made the first step towards this in the corner of a local farmer’s field and with one poly tunnel and some cold frames the embryo nursery was born.
The search for a suitable permanent site was eventually achieved in 1984. Bought at auction the land was completely overgrown with brambles and blackthorn, so we had many exciting weeks clearing, exploring and planning. Once cleared we set about putting in roadways, erecting the first tunnels and bringing in water, electricity and a phone line.
Since those early days the nursery has slowly evolved and changed to take in the differing trends and markets. It has not always been plain sailing, with various ups and downs in the economy plus the huge disruption of COVID, but we have managed to survive.
Now joined by our two sons, this rich background has equipped us with a vast knowledge of plants and the horticultural trade, ensuring that we can offer only the best to our customers.
Propagated from our own stock

Most of our plants are propagated from our own stock, allowing us to maintain the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
